Henley in Bloom
Henley is ‘blooming’
Henley on Thames is one of seven towns in the final of this year's RHS Britain in Bloom competition after successful winning the Thames and Chiltern regional gold award in 2006.
The town impressed judges with exciting projects such as the rejuvenation of Station Park, the placing of a floral train to mark the 150th anniversary of railways to Henley and the ‘Henley in Bloom’ boat, which takes centre stage on the Reading Road roundabout.
It isn’t just floral displays that the town is judged on however (these count for just 30% of the overall mark) the competition is very much community focused. The town will be judged on areas such as sustainable development, local environmental quality, permanent landscaping and public awareness.
